Sydney Clifton - 2013 Empowering Adult Award

Maine Youth Action Network (MYAN) awarded our very own Sydney Clifton, aka HOBY Mama, their 2013 Empowering Adult Award.  

The following is copied from the MYAN webpage:

'The Empowering Adult Award is given to a an adult in Maine who has gone above and beyond to engage and empower youth ages 12-18 in their community, and who has supported youth to find their voice and/or make an impact in their community. Sydney Clifton has been volunteering with Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership of Maine since 2006. As Corporate Board President and Leadership Seminar Chair, she volunteers hundreds of hours to the organization in an effort to create a powerful leadership experience for Maine youth. Sydney inspires young leaders to find their passion and understand how to leverage their skills to create change."


Thanks to Andrea Levinsky for nominating Sydney!  Unfortunately due to a snowstorm, Sydney was unable to accept the award in person at the MYAN conference in December but thankfully Justin Chenette (HOBY Maine, 2007) was presenting the awards at the conference and was able to accept on her behalf.
